Ashlyn Anderson-Keelin

VA-ACCREDITED ATTORNEY

Ashlyn Anderson-Keelin is a VA-accredited attorney dedicated to helping veterans obtain the benefits, recognition, and support they have earned through their service. Her work focuses on veterans benefits advocacy and military discharge upgrade matters, including helping veterans with less-than-honorable discharges gain greater access to VA benefits and care.

Before joining National Vet Help, Ashlyn served as a Clinical Teaching Fellow with the Bob Parsons Veterans Advocacy Clinic at the University of Baltimore School of Law. There, she co-taught a veterans law clinic focused on advocacy before the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense while helping law students develop practical legal skills and a deep respect for veterans and their service.

Ashlyn previously worked with the Veterans Legal Clinic at the University of Georgia School of Law, where she managed an active caseload of veterans benefits and discharge upgrade matters pending before both the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense. During her time there, she played a key role in implementing the Georgia Veterans Outreach Project, a Covid-era project focused on expanding legal services to low-income veterans in rural communities across Georgia.

Earlier in her career, Ashlyn worked with Catholic Charities Legal Network in Washington, D.C., where she provided pro bono legal services to low-income clients and helped establish a new satellite office in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Ashlyn earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science, summa cum laude, from Georgetown College in 2012 and received her Juris Doctor from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2016, where she was named a Thomas L. Shaffer Public Interest Fellow. She is licensed to practice law in Maryland and Washington, D.C., and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the United States Supreme Court. She has been accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs since 2017.

In 2025, Ashlyn published “I Was Young and Dumb”: Why Age Should Be Considered in the Military Discharge Upgrade Process in the Texas A&M Law Review, examining how age and maturity should be considered in military discharge upgrade decisions.

When she’s not advocating for veterans, Ashlyn runs The Sweet Spot—a food truck best known for its desserts but offering something for everyone—and can usually be found with a good book in hand.
